post your power supply and CPU please.
-
cpu athlon 64 dual core 6000+ @ 3.0 ghz, the power supply is like 450w.
-
need model # on psu
-
oh fuck off, just give me card suggestions. assume that if it requires a 650w power source and is 11 inches long that I can't use it.
-
Geforce 8800GT for $120
or
Radeon 4850 for $160
+15%-20% performance for +30% cash.

Even if it is 450 watt you should be fine, the only thing is you need to be sure your power supply has a power connection for PCI-express.
Pictured here: http://www.techaddicts.net/reviews/neob650/neob6513.jpg
If not there are adapters from molex connectors like so: http://www.overclockers.co.nz/product/cables/6PCIE-BK-B.jpg
450-watt would be absolute minimum or you will blow the fuse in your PSU and essentially render it useless unless you like to sauder.
The previous statement applies to all new graphics cards.

The technique used for Anti-Aliasing in the Radeon is far superior to that of the now over a year old 8800GT which means you can crank those settings up to max and not suffer even close to the performance loss.
Also not to mention the Radeon supports the latest standards etc.
Going for new you want the Radeon, going for just better performance in WoW only, go for the Geforce, but get one used on E-bay for 50 bucks or something.
Hell if you really don't care I'll sell you my old Geforce 8800GT 512mb that has 2 months of use because I really feel it's a total waste to buy one brand new and right now it's just rotting in my basement in it's box.
