Title: Headphone recommendations
Post by: Stent on March 09, 2010, 12:28:34 PM
We've moved into a new office at work with a crazy open setup.  Suffice to say I need a good pair of headphones to block out the stupidity of my coworkers, and I'm looking for suggestions.

Couple guidelines:

* Can't be open air, I'd get stabbed like Julius Caesar by angry mongoloids
* Price range is ~$100, but I'd be willing to go a little higher for the right pair
* Primarily used for music- not gaming, not that that should make a difference, but there it is.
* Comfort is key, I have sissy ears and delicate Irish skin

On a 100 dollar budget i'd recommend Audio Tecnica AD700, Grado SR 125, Sennheiser HD555.

If you plan on upping the budget go for Sennheiser HD595's a upgraded version of the Sennheiser HD555's which are incredibly comfy and have amazing sound quality for the price.

edit: one sec i'll get better links on some closed headphones, missed that in first post.

Sennheiser HD 448, Audio-Technica ATH-M50, Sennheiser PXC 350 are priced around 100, with the Sennheiser's at 160, all great quality closed headphones.
