So I got bored and went to find the last few Deadpool issues I don't have (apparently he's getting a new book so I guess I'll buy comics again). I found 2 new books that are fucking sweet.
The Walking Dead:
It has zombies so I dont think I really need to expand on the greatness of this book much. Basically imagine Dawn of the Dead minus the mall, but it doesn't end. This months issue (#48) basically kills off almost all of the cast to date. There are quite a few trades to catch people up, and I can't recommend this book enough. Even if you've never read comics period, or havent in like 12 years like me, you will love this. The characters are very fleshed out and very real. No mutants, no crazy powers, just real people that are very easy to get attached to.
Kick Ass (spoilers):
This one just started last month, and might be the greatest original idea for a comic book ever. A fairly nerdy but otherwise normal kid decides that rather than getting a normal job everyone hates, he's going to be a super hero. No special powers, no huge trust fund to make super cool "bat" equipment. Just a dude in a shitty wet suit + ski mask going out and fighting some crimes and shit. In issue one, he finds some taggers spraying a building, tries to break it up, and gets his fucking ass beat. As he stumbles back to the street to find help, he gets hit by a car. Issue 2 deals with the 6 months he's hospitalized, and his return to fighting crime. This is the funniest and coolest idea I've seen in any form of media in a really long time. I cant recommend it enough.

I read this a couple months ago, and it was pretty good.
