While an interesting concept with some benefits as they said, such as being crammed in by another car and not having to worry about opening your door, I wonder how it is affected by things such as wear-and-tear and side impacts. Some of the video comments discuss severe weather, but it doesn't seem like it takes that long to fold in/out. Would you buy a car with this feature?

I was expecting some joke vid but thats pretty cool. If it still maintained the same safety standards I would.

A very interesting feature. I would definately get a car with those doors if it was widely available.

Only thing I didn't see them bring up, what happens when the battery is dead? Not exactly the same thing as remote locks. Very cool idea though, surprised it wasn't done sooner with the availibilty of fold out side steps.

good point. Battery dies and you screwed. It would be interesting to see how they handle that. They probably didnt bring it up because they havent found a solution yet.

Have a crank, problem solved. They won't ignore a manual way of closing the door. It would be a tremendous design flaw.

ya but if its just a crank that doesnt sound an alarm or something anyone with that crank could get in. Maybe an emergency battery hook up that is only activated with a key?
