I prefer making comments that, in their sum, are larger then the original paper detailing how, in very critical detail, their writing/support is grossly and unforgivably unsatisfactory in terms of the assignment, especially by playing dangerously close to the edge of what would be considered mean while remaining professional.  The demoralizing 50/100 printed in over-sized lettering on the top of the page, bleeding through to the other side, is just the icing on the cake.

When people would ask me for regrades, I'd always find something else to mark them down on, so that the problem they wanted fixed was corrected, but their resulting score was the same or lower than before.  They'll never ask for another one after that.
