Post by: thefalah on January 25, 2010, 09:59:32 PM
What is a MIP!!!!!!!!!! I know its something with a GHZ and 1 million operations or something, but I don't really understand the concept and my teacher is from China and I don't understand him. How can a computer do 306 million operations in under 1 second I don't understand. I think I calculated something wrong. Help ME!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instructions_per_second#Million_instructions_per_second (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instructions_per_second#Million_instructions_per_second)

Modern computers do well over a billion instructions per second, although I don't really hear the term used for anything other than measuring supercomputers.
