So, for the week of 7/08/08 (yeah, that's right, my weeks start on tuesday when points reset, my life is that boring), when should we get out groove on?

I'm off Mon, Tues Weds, and Fri every week (playing Mr. Mom has its benefits...), so any of those days I can pretty much start any time. Outside of that, after 10pm server or before 4pm server works for me.

most likely can't do much until saturday afternoon.

sorry bros, but saturday is a no-go.  I can do tonight at around 6:30 server, though, but I won't be home unless you guys can both confirm you'll be around (I'll go out otherwise).  I can't do sunday before raids either, but potentially after raids, or monday after raids.  lemme know what works.

I R a fool lol, didn't check forums until today, cause I'm special like that.

Let's call it both Sunday and Monday after raids if you can swing that, unless we do super well on Sunday and can just call it (say 1950-2050).

I have to confirm with Aileyna, but I'm pretty sure he can swing it.

Sorry for the late reply. Honestly, used to coordinating arenas via in-game mail, so didn't think to check our thread of epicness until this morning, whilst I was sitting down with my Cap'n Crunch, waiting for 'yall to log on :P

Allright, Ball's in your court Bag me boy. I'm down for any day (or days) this week, though I work nights Fri-Sun (latest I get home is 10 though).

Ail is totally clear Fri-Sun (no raids), and elsewise has a similar schedule to you.

So, just let us know. 2050 hooooooooooo!

this weekend is gonna be the last real bad weekend for a while =x.  I gotta head down to NY on friday night and I won't be back until maybe monday.  can maybe do one night after raids; I'll post.

Title: CRAP! Schedule mix up!
Post by: Lanroke on July 24, 2008, 05:42:44 PM
So, they dicked with my schedule at work, and my Saturday has changed a bit. Instead of an evening shift, it's morning now (8am-5pm), meaning our 2pm start time for arenas just got boned.

Is a 5pm (server) start time cool? I might be able to just skip break and make it 4. If not, lemme know :(
Title: Re: thundercats assemble
Post by: Bag on July 24, 2008, 05:51:49 PM
should be fine.  can do 2s or 5s beforehand.  hopefully I'm outta the house by 7pm server, though, so we won't have a lotta time.
Title: Re: thundercats assemble
Post by: Lanroke on July 24, 2008, 05:58:00 PM
Sounds good, I'll just skip out at 4, that should give us ~ 3 hours.
Title: Re: thundercats assemble

gonna be late, sorry.  2 server earliest, more like 2:30 likely.

Yo, Aileyna is out till like next weekend. He had to RMA is video card, because it commitied honorable seppuku on him. So, unless you wanna bring Gasmask in as a ringer so we can pull down some pointage (which I wouldn't be opposed to) we're boned for 3s.

I for one was lookin forward to smashin some faces so, if you and Gas are down, lemme know. I'll be home about 4:15 server (getting off @4, then drive time).

So, Sunday or Monday this week are the best times (after raids). If you can swing em Bag, lemme know. We gots to get our rating up, so I can app to certain guilds, who shall remain nameless :P

I have a burr run scheduled on baggles at around 1pm server.  I can do games after, around 2:30ish server, and I should be online until around 6-7.  that work?

You mean for Saturdayzorz? I am either totally clear all day, or I'm clear till about 5pm server, so either way, if we can start at 2:30, should be groovy.

Yo, when you wanna roll this week? I'm clear all Friday, Saturrday before 6 and after 10, and Sunday after 7. Clear all Monday too, I guess.

So, whatever works for you guys.

that's cool, me and gas got 2050 in 2s for weaponz.  I'll be unavailable most of saturday due to all day/night beach rave party lulz, but I can do wednesday if we finish early, or thursday, or monday, or maybe early saturday day, but it would be like 10-12 server at best.  ideally, probably monday since we're shooting for 5s on wed/thurs.  also, gas said he's down to stick with this team, so we'll have to grind a few shit teams to get his PR up, then we'll be back on track.

Dude, that's hot. And Monday sounds fine to me, plus I'll hang around Weds to see if any time opens up for 3s then.

Also, grats on 2050.

Kinda... my son's first bday party is going to be Saturday, starting at like 2:30. So we could probably swing for like an hour or so Sat, get some in, and then maybe finish any if we don't make 10 or do well another day?

That work?

Weds and thurs both work for me. I'm off all weds, most of thurs, so you say when and I'll be there. TBH, we don't even need to make 10 games lol, just 2050. I only need like 500 points, and I can easily pull that down in 2s.

Any idea where Digo went, btw?

Yo, gentlemen, this new weapon?

If someone made sex into an ice cream, then forged a sword out of it, that would be this weapon. Truth!

Anyway, lemme know when/if (hopefully) you guys can do 3s after you get back. If not this week I understand, and I can still manage points from my 2s/5s, though not as many as I would like.

Also, we need fancier shoulders. Perhaps a Gladiator title, or two.

Allright gents, new week, I say, if you guys can, we try to set a day to get more then just 10 in (provided things go well) and aim for 2200 this week. Even if we fall a little short of our goal, if we finish at like 2150 or something, we only have a short jog till shoulders after.

I'm off straight through Friday, so lemme know.

Title: Re: thundercats assemble

So, when should we make our push to 2200? Call me superstitious, but I honestly feel we have had the best luck on Wednesdays (both our push from sub 2050 to 2050+, and last week were Wednesdays...), so maybe we can try for then?

Lemme know. Also, Bag, I couldn't send your disc out today cause my wife took the car and forgot to take the disc to mail (women...), so I'ma overnight it to you tomorrow - you should have it by weds.

Title: Re: thundercats assemble
Post by: Lanroke on September 30, 2008, 05:04:32 PM
Yo, looks like this may be the last week to play for titles. When 3.0 drops, the end of the "title" season happens. Our team's rating won't be wiped, but titles will be doled out, and with 3.0 off the PTR, it's looking pretty imminent.

So, I guess this week is for all the marbles guys. We reigned in at 20th this week, and if we can make 2200 or at least close to it this week, Gladiator should be a lock.

Title: Re: thundercats assemble
Post by: Lanroke on October 04, 2008, 06:43:10 PM
Allrighty gents, at the risk of sounding pathetic/desperate, I'ma level with you;

This team is my one and only chance of making Gladiator in TBC.

While that may not seem terribly important, it pretty much validates the last year and a half spent playing WoW. To call myself a "PvPer" and miss glad four seasons in a row would be... frustrating at best.

So, that said, after last week, I need your help to recover and make it. Normally we only play one night a week, and only a few games then, but with the wire so rapidly approaching, I'm beginning to worry.

So, the long and short of it is, if you guys can help me out by putting in a little more time then usual over the next week, I'd really appreciate it. You tell me when, and I'll be there (I don't even care if I have to take a day off from work lol). I know you guys are busy, between raids and, you know, living life, so any time you can spare doing arenas would help tremendously. I'll even try and pay for respeccs if you guys are able to get games in before raids begin, etc.

If you're wondering why this is so important to me, well, I'm gettin on the local Police force soon (much sooner then I had thought), and I have no idea how much that's going to effect my playtime, aside from dramatically reducing it. So, I don't know if I'll be able to play enough to make glad in WoTLK. This may well be my last chance to look back at WoW and say "Yeah, I'm a PvPer who made Gladiator, good times"...

Allright, end of pitiful post.

Sought some help on strats for our trouble comps. Here's the only good reply I got, from a Pally who ran our comp to 2400, remade, and is now about 2200:

Quote
ive run this comp to 2,4k and now on my back there.

vs the 3dps RMP, its hard. focus the spriest, give freedom and sacrifice with brain, dont become sheeped /blinded as a pally. we handle this like a normal RMP: go for priest, cc the mage with cyclonce x2 , repentance, feral charge, fear, cyclone x2 etc.LoS sometimes if needed at the 3 dps version. if they burn your druid put sacrifice on him asap and peel the rogue off. either damage the rogue now or go back to the priest.

vs RMP: just plain nuke the priest. cc mage like above, then cc rogue. we never lost to RMP on the new creation of the team and wre about 2,2k now.

Druid/priest/war: focus priest like you did it. judge wisdom ! this is erally important. rejudge if he dispels it. use rank 1 seal of command. be incredible fast at dispelling. build the above cc rotation up on their druid to force cooldowns. one minute after this put the same rotation once again and the priest should die. if not rinse and repeat.. i dont usually go oom with judged wisdom and rank 1 seal usage.

vs the hunter version: i find it easier dont know why. to the same thing like above. focus priest judge wisdom.dispel the hunters manadrain asap. if the pet is on the druid have him take it down slow with insect swam.

I guess he advocates risking clones early against the mage, before people need much healing, that way if you eat a CS, we can endure, plus it puts his CS on CD earlier, rather then holding it for when he wants to drop someone.

As for me judging wisdom early against the trouble mana drain comps, that might help. I tend to wait till I'm low to judge it, but in reality that doesn't do me a whole lot of good. Putting it up early, provided it doesn't get constant dispelled, which most forget to do, would yield me a lot more mana. Same thing for running a rank 1 seal start to finish. I usually switch to rank 1 (which means I also stop judging) at about 50% of the way through the fight, but doing it start to finish would save me a truckload of mana.

Yeah sorry I missed you guys this weekend, my kid got way sick Thursday morning, and we spent a lot of time in the ER Friday/Saturday :(

Things just got better for him late last night.

So tomorrow at like 6ish? I'm there bros. As for 2200+, we got that on lock post 3.0 when Gas and I are broken with the new skills, so yeah, if we can sneak me into glad range now, I'd cream myself, for realz.

Bros, you guys good for a quick jog up to 2200 tonight, provided the servers are stable?

I've done quite a few 2s with Miya, and things are VERY different, but it looks to be in our favor. Here are some things I've noticed:

1) Fights are much shorter and more brutal now, but healers seem to still really stay in the fight a long time if they're geared/good.

2) The only class I've encountered that is as scary as a ret pally atm is a really well geared blade fury warrior. That shit tears people apart.

3) Mages scare the living dogshit out of me.

4) Enhancement shammies are a lot more butch then they were before.

5) Priests roll over and die, and rogues don't seem a whole lot better off.

6) I can easily heal in a pinch.

7) I have like 3 more GCDs to manage now, making cleansing ironically harder, meaning I'll need to pre-empt it more.

8 ) The warlocks that turn into demons are scary powerful. Until I fear them. Then it becomes funny.

9) Most of the powerful classes are heavily CD based. Live through those via whatever means, and things revert to a more familiar environment.

It feels like a weird version of pre-BC wow, with the same trappings and strats present, mainly overwhelming offense, and healers need to try to blow their mana bar as fast as possible or else they die with 8k left and very little healing done.
